The Goleta City Council received a check in-person from former councilwoman Jean Blois at a meeting Tuesday.
The check was for money due years ago, linked to overpaid health insurance coverage.
Blois just found out about the $110 bill despite it dating back years.
Three other councilmembers were also entangled in the financial error at different times, which involved a better financial deal than other members were receiving.
Two of the other councilmembers have already repaid the money, while Mayor Paula Perote is repaying the debt in increments.
