Vietnam Wall Comes to South Coast

A moving replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. has  arrived at Chase Palm Park in Santa Barbara.

The wall is a scaled-down version of the memorial in the nation's capital.

On the structure are the over 58,000 names of men and women who died in the conflict.

That list includes 98 names from Santa Barbara County.

Friends and relatives who see familiar names are leaving notes and pictures at the base of the wall.

The wall will be available for viewing 24 hours a day.

There will be a dedication ceremony on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and a candlelight vigil on Sunday at 6:00 a.m.
