The T. Wallace More Murder Revisited
T. Wallace More and his brothers had purchased Rancho Sespe from the Carrillo heirs. By 1877 settlers were encroaching on what he believed he owned. On the night of March 24, 1877, a group of hooded men set fire to More’s stable, More was shot multiple times. Seven men were charged, two went to trial and were found guilty. Only one served time. Looking back was justice served?
