Spring Mainstage Musical: “A Midsemester Prom Night’s Dream”
Thursday-Saturday, April 28-30, 8 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2 p.m.In this rock ’n’ roll adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” presented by the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, Shakespeare meets Green Day when Millennium Oaks High School student Helen studies too much and falls asleep at her “Midsummer Night’s Dream”-themed prom. After waking up, Helen finds herself a character in the Shakespearean comedy. Set in 1999, the musical features the popular live rock band ’90s Nation playing parodies of popular ’90s rock ’n’ roll hits.
