Noon Concerts presents Music for Flute, Bassoon & Harp

Noon Concerts at Trinity Santa Barbara opens the Fall 2024 season on Thursday, September 5, 2024 with Music for Flute, Bassoon and Harp featuring Heather Clark, flute, William Wood, bassoon, and Marcia Dickstein, harp. Ms. Clark and Ms. Dickstein will perform Nino Rota’s Sonata for Harp and Flute (1937). They will be joined by Mr. Wood for Craig Phillips’ Suite for Flute, Bassoon and Harp (1999).

Nino Rota (1911 - 1979) is best known as a film composer collaborating with Frederic Felleni (La Dolce Vita, 8 ½, Romeo and Juliet) and Francis Ford Coppola (Godfather series). Craig Phillips is a distinguished and popular American composer and organist who is the Director of Music at All Saints’ Church, Beverly Hills. His choral and organ music is heard Sunday by Sunday in churches and cathedrals across the United States, and many of his concert works have been performed throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Heather Clark is principal flute of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony Orchestra and the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. She has performed on over five hundred film and television soundtracks, often as principal flutist, for many of the greatest film composers of our time, including John Williams, Randy Newman, Michael Giacchino, Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. A world-renowned harpist, Marcia Dickstein has been enticing new audiences to harp in chamber music and solo with orchestra, and inspiring composers to write new works for harp in classical and jazz genres, for many years. Founder/Artistic Director of The Debussy Trio, she has performed worldwide, in the United States, Canada, Europe, Scandinavia, and Japan, over NPR radio, PBS, and numerous TV channels. William Wood is a member of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, New West Symphony, Riverside Philharmonic, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale Sinfonia Orchestra. He is an avid chamber music performer and is the Artistic Director and Founder of Noon Concerts @ TrinitySB, bi-monthly free thirty-minute concerts at Trinity Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara.
