From Creek to Campus: Stormwater Solutions at Adams Elementary
From Creek to Campus: Stormwater Solutions at Adams Elementary
The Watershed Stewards Program in partnership with the City of Santa Barbara Creeks Division invites you to join for a fun, hands-on restoration event at Adams Elementary on March 22nd!
We're coming together to address the impacts of stormwater runoff that affect our community and nearby creeks. This volunteer event will focus on reducing flooding and improving water quality by tackling stormwater runoff issues at Adams Elementary.
We’ll be restoring a stormwater swale and planting native plants to help absorb rainwater, reduce flooding, and prevent water pollution. Not only will these efforts make Adams Elementary safer, but they’ll also help improve the health of local watersheds and support endangered species like the Southern California Steelhead Trout that rely on clean creeks for their survival.
This event is an exciting opportunity to help make a positive change right in our own community! Come get your hands dirty and help us build a better, greener future for our local creeks, school, and community. Volunteers will be provided with all necessary materials, and no prior experience is required.
