Movies Shot in Conejo Valley Featured in Film Festival This Weekend

Numerous motion pictures have been filmed in the Conejo Valley, and you can see a few of them this weekend. It’s the fifth annual Conejo Valley Classic Film Festival at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

The Conejo Valley was rich in film history.

"The area was ideal because it was within an easy drive of Hollywood and all that area. Nobody was here, so you didn't have any regulations. You could just plop down and film wherever you wanted," Cal Lutheran political science professor Herb Gooch said.

The film festival began on Thursday with the showing of the 1948 movie Jungle Jim. On Saturday at 7 pm  in Richter Hall, you can watch the 1921 silent film, The Three Musketeers. And, on Sunday at 7 pm at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, there will be a screening of Sleepless in Seattle.

The events are free.
