"Bad News Bears" Cast Including Moorpark Man To Reunite In Ventura County For Theater Benefit

Walter Matthau with fellow "Bad News Bears" cast members in 1976. Moorpark City Councilman David Pollock, who played pitcher Rudi Stein, stands to the left of Matthau.

He’s known in Ventura County as a community leader who’s served on school boards and city councils. But, he has a surprising secret.

Some 40 years ago, he starred in a smash hit kids movie which has become a cult classic, spawning two sequels, a TV series, and even a remake of the original movie.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports the Moorpark man who co-starred in the original “Bad News Bears” has helped put together a cast reunion and screening of the movie to benefit a local non-profit theater.
