A hot week is ahead for residents of the Central and South Coasts.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of the region through Tuesday morning, followed by an Extreme Heat Watch through Friday.
Highs could top out at 110 degrees for some inland areas, or 6 to 12 degrees above average for this time of year.
The marine layer will help keep temperatures cooler along the coast at least until mid-week.
Sundowner winds could increase the brush fire danger in southern Santa Barbara County’s mountains and foothills for the next few nights. Significant cooling isn’t expected until this coming weekend.
