Firefighters mop up a brush fire in Santa Barbara County

What's being called the Drum Fire is burning near Los Alamos, in Santa Barbara County. No structures are reported threatened.

The blaze charred about 40 acres of brush near Los Alamos.

Firefighters are working to get full containment of a wildfire that charred about 40 acres of brush on the Central Coast.

The fire started at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday south of Los Alamos, in the Drum Canyon area. Santa Barbara County firefighters, aided by air tankers and helicopters, were able to stop the fire's growth by 9 p.m.

The fire burned away from Los Alamos, and no structures were threatened.
