CHP officer injured in head-on crash in Ventura County

A CHP officer was seriously injured in a head-on crash on Grimes Canyon Road between Moorpark and Fillmore Saturday night.

The collision happened on Grimes Canyon Road between Moorpark and Fillmore Saturday night.

A CHP officer was injured in a head-on crash in Ventura County, and the driver of the other vehicle was arrested on a DUI charge.

The collision happened at about 11 Saturday night, on Grimes Canyon Road between Moorpark and Fillmore.

Investigators say the CHP officer was driving southbound when a northbound pickup truck crossed the double yellow lines of the two-lane road and hit the patrol vehicle head-on.

The CHP officer suffered significant injuries, as did a passenger in the pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries. The Santa Paula man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury.
