Firefighters battling brush fire in eastern Ventura County, near Lake Piru

Blaze is in the mountains southeast of Lake Piru

Firefighters are battling a wildfire southeast of lake Piru, near the Ventura-Los Angles County line that has prompted some evacuation orders and warnings.

What's being called the Holser Fire was reported just after 1 Saturday afternoon, on the 6700 block of Holser Canyon Road.

As of 2 p.m. it had burned about 50 acres of brush. By 3, it hand grown to 95 acres. Air tankers, helicopters, and more than 200 firefighters are battling the blaze.

It's a sparsely populated area, but some evaucation orders and warnings have been issued.

An evacuation order has been isued for Lake Piru. Warnings have been issued for some areas in the Piru area. You can find a list of evacuation orders and warnings here.

Highway 126 between Ventura and Santa Clarita remains open at this time.
