Thousands of people participated in the 25th anniversary edition of the World of Pinot Noir in Santa Barbara County, a celebration of the wine varietal.

The World of Pinot Noir has announced plans to move to a series of smaller, more intimate events.

One of the biggest wine events in the Tri-Counties celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Now, there’s word that it will apparently be the last one.

The World of Pinot Noir brought Pinot Noir lovers from around the world to Santa Barbara County. The three-day event featured everything from seminars and dinners to grand tastings featuring hundreds of wineries.

Thousands of people attended the 25th anniversary event in March at Goleta’s Bacara resort.

The World of Pinot Noir’s Directors released a statement saying that after talking to winemakers and wine lovers, they are going to switch to a series of smaller, more intimate events. The idea is that with smaller crowds, people will have a better experience by being able to spend more time with winemakers.
