Show in the sky! Twilight rocket launch from the Central Coast creates dazzling sight

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space for Base at 8:36 Monday night. This is the view from Ventura County.

With mostly clear skies, people report seeing the launch throughout much of the Western United States.

Maybe you saw it! With mostly clear skies throughout the Tri-Counties, a rocket launch created a spectacular show at dusk Monday night.

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base. It carried 26 communications satellites into orbit.

Because of the timing of the 8:36 p.m. launch, it was visible throughout much of the western United States.

The reusable first-stage booster landed on a barge off the West Coast.
