A brush fire is putting up a large plume of smoke south of Santa Paula on Monday afternoon.

The blaze is in the Santa Clara Riverbed area, south of Santa Paula.

Ventura County firefighters are fighting a brush fire that’s burned several acres of land in the Santa Clara Riverbed, south of Santa Paula.

It started at around 3:20 on Monday afternoon.

There’s no word of any homes being threatened. The blaze is in an agricultural area.

About 130 firefighters aided by two helicopters are fighting the fire, which is being burning in grass in the riverbed.

It’s putting up a large plume of smoke visible in much of western Ventura County.

An evacuation warning has been issued for the area on the south side of the riverbed from 12th Street to the old Mountain View Golf Course. The area is mostly industrial, but there are a few scattered homes in the area.
