Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a May 3 light plane crash which killed two people in Simi Valley.

Plane went down May 3 in Simi Valley's Wood Ranch neighborhood.

A preliminary report by federal investigators into a plane crash that killed a father and son in Ventura County still hasn’t answered the question of exactly what occurred.

The single-engine plane was flying from Lancaster to Camarillo when it crashed on May 3.

The cloud level was down to about 300 feet when the plane went down in Simi Valley’s Wood Ranch area. A witness told National Transportation Safety Board investigators that the plane dipped below the clouds briefly, went back into them, and then dove into the ground.

The plane crashed between two homes. Paul Berkovitz and his son Matthew died in the crash. No one on the ground was hurt.
