Latest numbers show unemployment dip for most of the Tri-Counties

State unemployment holds steady at 4.4%.

New state figures show a slight drop in unemployment for most of the Tri-Counties, while there was no change statewide.

The jobless rate went from 4.1% in February, to an even 4% in March for Ventura County. Santa Barbara County also had a slight drop, moving from 4.6% to 4.5% month to month.

There was no change for San Luis Obispo County, with a 3.4% unemployment rate reported for both the months of February and March.

The state also held steady, with a 4.4% jobless rate. The 4.4% number was not only the same for February and March, but California also had a 4.4% unemployment rate a year ago, in March of 2022. The state added 8700 non-farm jobs last month.
