Wesley Welling's family visits memorial set up near Westlake High School.

It was an emotional visit to the memorial set up in Westlake Village for the four teens struck by a car in what detectives say was an intentional attack.

The family of the 15-year-old who died visited the memorial, and talked with reporters.

"Everybody loved him, and I'm finding out how many more people I didn't even know about," said Kelly Welling.

She was talking about her son Wesley Welling, who died from injuries he suffered after being hit by a car Tuesday afternoon.

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say the driver of the car intentionally hit Welling, and three other Westlake High students at a bus stop on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, near the campus.

The teen’s sister Hanna was there, and she narrowly avoided being hit.

"I heard the skid...and like everything happened so fast," said Welling.

Wesley’s death came on his mother’s birthday. And, to make it worse, Kelly lost her sister just a few days ago.

As of Thursday morning, a GoFundMepage set up to help the family has raised more than $200,000.
