An impromptu memorial has popped up at the Thousand Oaks intersection where a pro-Israeli demonstrator was fatally injured Sunday.

Conflict at Ventura party apparently leads to attack.

Detectives are trying to figure out what led to a fatal stabbing over the weekend in Ventura County.

It happened at about 1 a.m. Sunday. There was a party going on the 200 block of East McFarlane Drive, in Ventura. Two men who apparently knew each other got into a fight. One of the men stabbed the other, and the victim later died at a hospital

The 31-year-old man has been identified as Jose Contreras. The suspect in the killing is still at large.
