Watch your step! Huge hole appears in Ventura County neighborhood

Ventura County Fire Department
A 30 foot deep hole has appeared in a Ventura County neighborhood.

No one hurt, but some nearby homes evacuated.

A huge hole forced the evacuation of some homes in Ventura County.

Ventura County firefighters say a 30 by 30 foot hole appeared between two homes in Camarillo Friday morning. It’s off of Grada Avenue, which is just east of the Las Posas County Club. It was at first believed to be a sinkhole, but Ventura County firefighters now say it was the result of erosion.

No one was hurt. About 16 people have been evacuated from nearby homes. Crews used sandbags to divert water from flowing into the hole, and making the situation worse.
