Snow on the San Marcos Pass in Santa Barbara County last Thursday.

But, the latest storm to hit the region isn't expected to be a major one.

The third round of rainfall, and snowfall from a low pressure system that’s been lingering on the West Coast since the weekend is arriving in the Tri-Counties.

This will be the most powerful of the three waves to hit the region. The bulk of the rain and snowfall is expected to be between now, and midday Wednesday. Coastal areas could get up to 1 3/4" of rain, while the mountains and foothills could see up to 3".

The snow level could drop to 1500 feet overnight Tuesday, with two to six inches of snow possible above the 3000 foot level.

With snow, and strong wind expected in the mountains, there’s a Winter Storm Warning for the Ventura and Santa Barbara County mountains. The storm is expected to clear the region by midday Wednesday, with mostly clear skies for the rest of the work week.
