Firefighters get two people out of drain at Earl Warren Showgrounds

It was a tense 9-1-1 call in Santa Barbara County, with the rainfall we're having. Two people were trapped in a storm drain.

It happened Monday morning. An adult and a juvenile went into an underground storm drain, and tried to get out near the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara. But, a metal fence covered the end of the drain, and they couldn't get out.

Santa Barbara City and County firefighters responded to the scene, and were able to remove some of the bars covering the rain, so the trapped people could escape.

Fortunately, the water levels in the drain were low at the time, and the duo was unhurt.
