The major storm that’s heading towards the Tri-Counties is expected to bring significant rain, and snowfall, with the region getting it's first Blizzard Warning in recent memory.
The wind and showers we’ve had so far are a just a prelude to the main event, which comes Friday into Saturday.
The forecast calls for two to four inches of the rain on the coast and inland, and up to six inches in the mountains. However, the rainfall totals aren't expected to be as extreme as they were during the January 9 storm.
The Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for the mountains of the Tri-Counties. The snow level could drop to 1500 feet. Above 4000 feet, two to five feet of snow is possible.
It’s a very cold storm, and we could see the most snowfall we’ve received in three decades.
