It’s showtime in Santa Barbara County! The Santa Barbara International Film Festival kicks off its 11-day run Wednesday.

The Film Festival officially kicks off Wednesday night at Santa Barbara’s Arlington Theater with the world premiere of the movie “Miranda’s Victim.” It tells the true story of a sexual assault victim, and how her case led to the establishment of what we now know as “Miranda Rights” for the accused.

Abigail Breslin, Luke Wilson, Donald Sutherland, and Andy Garcia are among the stars in the movie.

This year’s film festival will feature 57 world premieres, and 78 U.S. premieres, with movies coming from 48 countries.

There will also be a who’s who of in-person tributes, with honorees including Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchette, Brendan Fraser, and more.

A number of Academy Award nominated actors, actresses, directors, and screenwriters will take part in special events.
