Henry Kissinger visits Ventura County to commemorate Ronald Reagan's 112th birthday

Former Secretary of State speaks as part of birthday celebration at Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.

It was a big birthday party in Ventura County, to commemorate America’s 40th President. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley held a special celebration Monday, to honor the late president’s 112th birthday.

A U.S. Marine band, former California Governor Pete Wilson, and hundreds of invited guests were among those on hand to celebrate Reagan’s birthday.

Longtime Presidential advisor, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger spoke. He thinks the late President’s legacy includes helping to put the lid on the Cold War. "Ronald Reagan was a fierce Cold Warrior...and an avid, and insistent peace maker," said Kissinger.

The ceremony included placing a wreath on the President’s gravesite, which is on the library grounds. Then, everyone was treated to birthday cake to celebrate the presidential birthday.
