The body of missing hiker Zachary Zernik was found in the Santa Monica Mountains Thursday.

The 22-year-old man disappeared on Saturday in the Santa Monica Mountains.

There’s a tragic end to the search for a missing hiker in Ventura County.

Ventura County Search and Rescue teams discovered the body of Zachary Zernik in the Santa Monica Mountains Thursday morning. They found the 22-year-old man’s remains in Boney Mountain State Wilderness Park.

County Sheriff’s Office officials say there was no evidence of foul play, and the death appears to be accidental. An autopsy is pending.

Zernik was last seen on Saturday. His vehicle was found at the Wendy Drive/Potrero trailhead. He was the focus of a search for the last few days.
