A South Coast city has announced the resignation of its city manager, as well as a settlement agreement over his departure.
The Ventura City Council approved the deal with Alex McIntyre Monday night. But in a written statement, the city didn’t say anything about what led to it. He was placed on paid administrative leave November 14.
Earlier this year, McIntyre was involved in some controversy over travel expenses on a business trip. But, the results of an audit on that concern still haven’t been released.
McIntyre became Ventura’s City Manager in November of 2018. The announcement says the city will pay McIntyre a $150,000 settlement to waive any claims he might have against the city. He will officially resign from the post at 5 p.m. Tuesday. McIntyre is the third Ventura City Manager to resign from the post in the last 20 years.
