Authorities are trying to figure out exactly what led to a tragic traffic collision on the South Coast which left five people dead.
It happened just after 4 a.m. Sunday, on the Pacific Coast Highway between Point Mugu and Mugu Rock.
CHP investigators say a northbound car and a southbound SUV collided just north of Mugu Rock. It’s believed one of the vehicles crossed the center line, leading to the head-on crash.
The SUV caught on fire, and all four people inside died. The driver of the car also died. The names of the victims haven’t been released yet.
