New $7 million crane will reduce pollution coming from Port of Hueneme

Part of efforts to move Port Hueneme to zero emissions

A company has made a huge commitment to reduce pollution at a South Coast port.

Ports America has added a new $7 million crane to the Port of Hueneme. The electric-hybrid crane is more energy efficient, and cuts down on pollution from loading and unloading operations.

It is expected to also be more reliable, replacing one which is being decommissioned.

Ports America handles produce from two fresh fruit companies with three mobile harbor cranes at the Ventura County port.
