The driver of a car was arrested following a fatal traffic collision in Oxnard.

Car, motorcycle collide on Oxnard road.

One man is dead, and a second was arrested following a traffic collision in Ventura County.

It happened at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road, and Terrace Avenue, in Oxnard. Police say Elijah Franco was travelling westbound on Pleasant Valley Road. Investigators say an eastbound car then tried to turn onto Terrace Avenue, causing the collision with the oncoming motorcycle.

Franco was seriously injured, and died a short time later at a hospital. Police say the driver of the car, Andrew Marquez, was impaired. Officers arrested him on second degree murder, and gross vehicular manslaughter charges.
