There’s been an arrest in the shocking murder of a 14-year-old boy on the South Coast.

Leonardo Gonzales Jimenez was fatally wounded September 12 as he was standing near a bus stop in Oxnard, waiting for a family member to pick up. The Oxnard boy was shot multiple times. He later did at a hospital.

Oxnard Police Department detectives and officers teamed up with FBI special agents to pursue leads in the case. They determined the shooting was gang related, and identified a 15-year-old boy as a suspect in the killing.

Investigators spotted the Oxnard teen Saturday night on Elm Street in Oxnard. He was arrested without incident. The teen is being held at Ventura County Juvenile Hall on a murder charge.
