A Minuteman III test launch is planned for Vandenberg Space Force Base early Wednesday morning. This is a photo of a past launch.

Launch window is early Wednesday morning.

If all goes as planned, you might be able to see a spectacular sight in the skies above the Central and South Coasts Tuesday night.

The Air Force is planning to do a test launch of a Minuteman III ballistic missile from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The launch window is from 12:01 to 6:01 Wednesday morning. If all goes as planned, it will be the latest in an ongoing series of test launches from the base to test equipment and crew readiness. The missiles carry dummy payloads to a test range in the South Pacific.

The Air Force conducted its first Minuteman III test launch of the year last month from the base. It actually was postponed because of concerns it might inflame already high tension with China.
