It’s back to school this week at a South Coast university, and officials are reporting that enrollment is at nearly pre-pandemic levels.
Cal Lutheran’s first year student numbers are up 22%, and transfer student numbers are up 39%. The campus is reporting that its student housing complexes are full.
The Thousand Oaks-based university has about 2400 undergraduate students, and 1100 graduate students.
Cal Lutheran president Lori Varlotta says the university’s efforts to make scholarships more readily available have helped bring in more low and middle income students.
