State jobless numbers continue to drop in July, while Tri-Counties remains almost the same.

Unemployment at pre-pandemic levels in Tri-Counties: State numbers also continue to drop.

After a slight bump upwards earlier this summer, the latest unemployment figures for the Central and South Coasts are showing very little change.

Ventura and Santa Barbara County’s figures remained flat from June to July.

Ventura County reported a 3.2% jobless rate for both months. Santa Barbara County also remained the same, at 2.8%. San Luis Obispo County had a tiny drop, going from 2.6% unemployment in June to 2.5% in July.

All three counties are at pre-pandemic levels when it comes to jobless numbers.

The statewide employment situation also continues to improve. California reported 3.9% unemployment in July, down from 4.2% in June. That 3.9% rate is nearly half of where the state was at a year ago, when it stood at 7.4%.
