A man has been arrested after a van with an open propane tank inside was set on fire in Fillmore, in what investigators are calling an intentional effort to cause an explosion.

Man arrested, but no word on possible motive for incident.

Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies say they’ve arrested a man who was trying to blow up a van parked at a business.

Ventura County firefighters were called to a nursery on Old Telegraph Road in Fillmore by reports of a suspicious vehicle. The found a fire in the back of a parked van, and a propane tank with an open valve in the van’s front seat.

They were able to safely put out the fire and shut off the tank, but investigators determined it was a deliberate effort to cause an explosion.

They identified a Fillmore man as a suspect in the incident. Deputies found, and arrested Nikhil Kaboor on arson and theft charges. There’s no word on a possible motive for the incident.
