Man who was seriously injured during clash over controversial soccer match call dies

A Port Hueneme man injured in a fight between two soccer teams on the South Coast has died.

Detectives still looking for witnesses, video in connection with fight in Oxnard.

A soccer dispute which led to a huge fight has ended in tragedy in Ventura County.

Misael Sanchez was seriously injured in the July 10th fight. The Port Hueneme man died Monday.

Oxnard Police detectives say a controversial call in the soccer match on the Oxnard High School grounds led to a fight involving both teams, as well as some spectators.

Investigators made one arrest, but are looking for witnesses and video recordings of the confrontation. An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death of the 29-year-old man is set for Tuesday.
