Firefighters are mopping up the largest of some brush fires on the Central Coast which disrupted traffic on Highway 101, and damaged one structure.
The fires were first reported at around 3:15 p.m. Friday, east of the highway near Tefft Street in Nipomo. Smoke backed up traffic on the highway.
The largest charred about 25 acres of brush. By 6 p.m. firefighters had the upper hand on the fire. There’s no word on the cause.
