Goleta officials have selected a new City Manager.

Longtime government leader in Santa Barbara County set to become Goleta's new City Manager.

A South Coast city is getting a new City Manager.

Robert Nisbet is set to become Goleta’s new City Manager. Nisbet is coming to Santa Barbara County from Northern California, where he’s currently City Manager for the City of Half Moon Bay.

He’s worked for local government agencies for more nearly three decades. Nisbet is no stranger to the region. He spent seven years as Carpinteria’s Public Works Director, and 12 years with Santa Barbara County’s General Services Department.

He’ll fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Michelle Greene. Greene worked for the city for 18 years, including the last eight as City Manager. The Goleta City Council is expected to formally approve Nisbet’s contract next week.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
