Maybe you saw it. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully took off from Vandenberg Space Force Base Sunday night, carrying dozens of satellites into orbit.
The rocket lifted off as planned at 6:39 p.m. It was carrying 46 Starlink satellites, part of a global network being set up to provide internet service to underserved parts of the world.
The reusable booster successfully landed on a barge off the West Coast.
It marks the 29th Starlink launch mission of the year for SpaceX. In addition to the communication satellites, the SpaceX rocket also carried the Earth-observation satellite Sentinel-6 into orbit.
