Authorities are trying to find the driver of a SUV who struck, and killed a man on Highway 101 on the South Coast.
It happened at around 6:45 a.m. Monday, on northbound 101 near La Cumbre Road in Santa Barbara.
CHP officers say the man was in the freeway’s number four lane when he was struck. He died a short time later at a hospital. Witnesses say the man was hit by a large SUV which fled the scene.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released. There’s no word on why the man was on the highway.
