Unemployment drops below 3% in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties

California's unemployment numbers continue to drop, as have the numbers for Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties.

Tri-Counties numbers are at pre-pandemic levels.

The unemployment rates on the Central and South Coasts have reached pre-pandemic levels.

The latest figures show the jobless figures for Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties have all dropped below 3%.

Ventura County went from a 3% jobless rate in April to 2.7% in May.

Santa Barbara County’s month-to-month unemployment numbers dropped from 2.8% to 2.4%. And, San Luis Obispo County has the lowest rate in the region, moving from 2.4% in April to 2.1% last month.

State unemployment numbers also continue to show improvement. The jobless rate went from 4.6% in April to 4.3% in May. That’s a drastic change from May of 2021, when the state’s unemployment stood at 7.9%
