Santa Barbara County Sheriff has early lead in reelection bid; Ventura County Sheriff trails

Ventura County's Measures A, B too close to call.

Santa Barbara Sheriff Bill Brown has jumped out to an early lead in his bid for a fifth term in office. Brown had 57% of the vote to challenger Juan Camarea's 43% as of 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

In Ventura County, early numbers show that challenger Jim Fryhoff had a 55% to 45% lead over incumbent Sheriff Billy Ayub.

Ventura County's Measures A and B too close to even determine a trend. Early numbers show A leading by around a 50.6% to 49.3% margin, with B slightly winning by a 50.3% to 49.7% margin.
