Authorities are investigating a grim find on the South Coast. Someone found human remains in the dumpster area of some apartments in Camarillo.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 300 block of Townsite Promenade at around 7 a.m. Friday, after someone spotted the remains in the trash enclosure. Deputies responding to the scene called the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office, which confirmed the remains were human.
The discovery is being treated as a murder investigation.
Detectives are looking at surveillance video from the area, and are asking for the public's help with anything unusual people may have noticed in the area.
