Non-profit organization awards $7.7 million in scholarships on Central, South Coasts

More than 2100 Santa Barbara County students are getting scholarships from a non-profit scholarship fund in the county.

The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara County is helping more than 2100 students this year.

A scholarship foundation has awarded $7.7 million in scholarships to students on the Central and South Coasts.

The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara County notified more than 2100 students in the county this week that they will be receiving aid from the non-profit organization.

Undergraduate students will be receiving an average of $3100 each, and graduate students will be getting around $3600. The scholarship winners range from students going to college, or vocational programs to those who are in law and medical schools.

The Foundation is the nation’s largest community-based provider of scholarships. It’s celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
