A health care network on the Central and South Coasts is closing in on the final dollars of a major campaign to expand its facilities, and services.

The effort is to enhance Cottage Health, the non-profit healthcare system which has three hospitals, and a number of clinics in the region. The Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Foundation has raised more than $115 million towards the $130 million goal of its “Reaching Higher Together” campaign.

The money will be used to double the size of Cottage Health’s Emergency Department, and new equipment and technology will be added. Cottage will open a new pediatric outpatient clinic. And, the money will help step up education, research, and clinical care efforts, as well as improving access for the underserved.

The Foundation is hoping to raise the final $15 million to meet the campaign’s goal by the end of the year.
