Tuesday marks a painful anniversary on the Central Coast.
It was a year ago that a San Luis Obispo Police detective died in the line of duty. Luca Benedetti was with a team of officers serving a search warrant at the home of a man when the man opened fire.
Benedetti was fatally wounded. Another officer was also wounded during the attack.
The 37-year-old officer left behind a wife, and two children. He's being remembered with a candlelight vigil Tuesday night in Mission Plaza, in downtown San Luis Obispo.
