More than 80,000 doses of opioids seized; One man arrested, with more arrests said to be pending.

Detectives say they’ve discovered a Mexico-based drug trafficking operation which has been smuggling fentanyl, heroin, and other drugs into Ventura County.

Ventura County Sheriff’s investigators say the operation was focused on selling drugs in the Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Thousand Oaks areas.

They arrested 22-year-old Jose Alberto Vega-Sanchez of Montclair.

The detectives say during a search of his vehicle, they recovered more than 8,000 does of illegal opioids, as well as substantial quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine. They think he was a delivery person for the drug operation, and say more arrests are pending.
