A Central Coast lake is set for a big spring and summer for those who like to fish.

Four thousand pounds of Rainbow Trout were added to Lake Cachuma last week, bringing the total to 16,000 pounds for the stocking season.

The fish brought to the lake from a Northern California hatchery range from a half pound to eight pounds in size.

Fishing is popular at the lake. If you have a license, you can fish year-round at Cachuma.

Like other waterways in the region, it's been hit by the drought. Cachuma has received 13" of rain so far this rainfall season. That's two-thirds of average for this point in the season. The lake is currently at 45% of its capacity.
