A rocket launch from the Central Coast originally set for Friday morning is now planned for Easter Sunday.

SpaceX is planning to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying a secret government payload from Vandenberg Space Force Base tomorrow morning.

SpaceX hasn’t said exactly why the launch was postponed, but notes the additional time will allow them flight team to do more pre-launch checks and data reviews.

Depending on the weather, the liftoff could be visible throughout much of the Central and South Coasts. The launch window opens at 6:13 a.m. And, multiple sonic booms could be heard throughout the region when the reusable booster lands back at Vandenberg Space Force Base.
