A SpaceX launch is set for Vandenberg Space Force Base Friday morning.

The Central and South Coasts could get an interesting wakeup call later this week.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base Friday morning, carrying a secret government payload. The launch window opens at 6:41 a.m. As of now, it’s a go for the launch.

After the rocket lifts off, the reusable main booster is set to land back in Santa Barbara County, at the base. The landing could create sonic booms heard throughout much of the region.
